About this event
The GSV Book Club Meeting will take place on January 18th at 7 pm on Zoom. We will be discussing the book, The Searcher by Tana French.

For our next meeting, we will be discussing the latest novel from a mystery writer who is considered one of the best crime novelists writing today and someone who appeals to people who don't ordinarily read mysteries.

The novel centers around a retired Chicago policeman who buys a run down farm in a tiny Irish village in order to escape the trauma of his former job and his failed marriage. He wants to build a new life in a pretty spot with a good pub where nothing much happens. A local kid comes looking for his help in order to find his missing brother; no one seems to care, least of all the police. Cal wants nothing to do with any kind of investigation but he can't make himself walk away. Against his will, he discovers that even in the most idyllic small town, secrets lie hidden, people aren't always what they seem, and trouble can come calling at his door.

With a back story that touches on police violence and systemic racism, this is a novel of suspense, which asks how we decide what' s right and what's wrong in a world where neither is simple.

GSV Members and Volunteers are welcome to join in the discussion of this book. Geri Cooperman will be leading the discussion and please RSVP with Geri at gcooperman@aol.com if you plan to attend.
